1. Who operates this site
Pulsarun (pulsarun.com) is operated by Willow Clarke, a private individual based at 32 Eyre Hwy, Wudinna SA 5652, Australia. There is no company, trust or partnership behind this site — Willow Clarke is personally responsible for the handling of personal information described in this policy and can be reached at [email protected] or +61 429 802 312.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy explains what personal information Pulsarun collects when you visit this website, why, and what rights you have under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) that the Act contains. It does not apply to third-party sites we link to, including Google Play listings for the games we review.
3. What we collect
Pulsarun has no account system, no comment section, no newsletter and no contact form. We do not ask visitors to submit personal information through this site. The only personal information Pulsarun processes is: (a) standard technical data automatically generated by your browser when it requests a page — IP address, user-agent string, referring page, requested URL and timestamp; and (b) if you choose to e-mail us, whatever information you include in that message, such as your e-mail address and name.
4. Where that information comes from
The technical data in 3(a) is collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure and by Cloudflare, our content delivery network, as an ordinary part of serving a web page — it is never provided by you directly and is not linked to any account, because no account exists. The information in 3(b) comes directly from you, only if and when you send an e-mail.
5. Why we process it (Australian Privacy Principles)
Under APP 3, we only handle information reasonably necessary to run and secure the site: technical logs are used to deliver pages, detect abuse and keep the site available. Under APP 6, we do not use or disclose this information for any purpose beyond that primary purpose — we do not sell it, profile visitors with it, or use it for marketing, because we have no marketing to send.
6. Cookies and local storage
Pulsarun does not set analytics or advertising cookies. The only client-side storage this site uses is a single localStorage entry that remembers whether you accepted or declined our cookie notice, so you are not asked again on every page. Full detail, including the exact key name, is in our separate Cookie Notice.
7. Cloudflare as our technical processor
This site is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., which acts as our content delivery network (CDN) and, incidentally, may inject a first-party performance-measurement request (a "beacon") that reports page load metrics such as Core Web Vitals, browser type and country of origin — without setting a cookie. Cloudflare processes the technical data described in section 3(a) on our behalf under its own data processing terms, and its infrastructure is global.
8. Overseas disclosure (APP 8)
Because Cloudflare operates a global network, the technical data in section 3(a) may be processed on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where Cloudflare maintains infrastructure. We rely on Cloudflare's own data processing and security commitments as reasonable steps to protect this information while it is handled overseas, consistent with APP 8.
9. How long we keep information
Pulsarun does not maintain its own separate archive of visitor logs. Technical data described in section 3(a) is retained by our hosting provider and Cloudflare only for as long as operationally necessary — typically a matter of weeks — for security and performance purposes, and is not kept indefinitely. E-mails you send us are kept only as long as needed to resolve the matter raised.
10. Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. Since Pulsarun has no forms or account system, no information is knowingly collected from any visitor, regardless of age, beyond the automatic technical data described above.
11. Your rights and how to exercise them
Under APP 12 you may ask what personal information we hold about you, and under APP 13 you may ask us to correct it. Because Pulsarun holds almost no identifiable personal information beyond transient technical logs and any e-mail you send us, most requests can be resolved simply by asking us to delete an e-mail exchange. Contact us at the address in section 1 to make a request; we will respond within a reasonable time and will not charge a fee for a straightforward request.
12. Complaints
If you believe Pulsarun has mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can try to resolve it directly. If you remain unsatisfied, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 2001, Australia — oaic.gov.au.
13. Security
This site is served exclusively over HTTPS. We deliberately collect as little personal information as possible — no accounts, no forms, no stored payment details — specifically to reduce the amount of information that would need protecting in the first place. Technical data in transit is protected by Cloudflare's standard TLS encryption.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the site or to Australian privacy law. The version in effect is always the one published at this URL, and the date below reflects when it was last updated.
